our work

We are proud to say that we are 100% volunteer based and every dollar we raise goes toward fulfilling our mission.  With nearly zero overhead costs, and none of our officers, directors, or employees accepting compensation for their work, the donations and support we receive go straight to our work and help to turn our dream of finding a cure for cancer into a reality.

FRED & PAMELA BUFFETT CANCER CENTER, OMAHA, NE

On February 24, 2018, our founder and president, Ben Broghammer, traveled to Omaha to formally present Project Periwinkle's financial contribution to the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

The transitional research conducted there provides those with a cancer diagnosis and their families with the best weapon there is for fighting back:  Hope.  They have been a leader in the fight back against cancer for over 40 years, offering patients the most up to date and innovative treatment options available through the integration of cutting-edge research into state-of-the art care.  Our contribution will help support the Gastrointestinal Research Program, and contribute to the research being done to fight back against stomach cancer.

This organization was founded in memory of Ben's cousin, Michon, who passed away from stomach cancer in 2014.  She received her treatment at UNMC, and our hope is that the work we will be able to support will allow our mission to continue forward.  The center provided hope to their family during that chapter of their lives, and we are proud that we can give back to an organization that does so much, and also help to provide the hope given to others during their challenging and unknown times.

Saint Louis University Cancer Center, St. Louis, MO

With the establishment of The Project Periwinkle Gastric Cancer Research Fund at Saint Louis University in 2015, both Project Periwinkle and Saint Louis University Cancer Center are working toward research for stomach cancer.  With the work that is being done, we are working toward our mission of funding stomach cancer with the goal of finding a cure.  So much more is needed to be done, but we are excited for what the future holds.

Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to our organization so that our work can continue.  It is only because of the support we receive that we are able to keep moving forward.  We are proud to say that 100% of the funds we raise go toward our mission.  None of our officers, directors, or employees accept compensation for their work and their commitment to our cause and their actions in volunteering allow us to maximize our impact in the world.  Thank you for your support!
